Q: Tell me a little more about yourself?
A: I’m the daughter of the late Deacon Roger & Ellie Mae Anderson. I was born and educated in Miami, Florida. I have one daughter, Joanna. She has four children and I have three great grand children as well which I adore and four brothers and a host of sisters and brother which my mother raised and nurture as one of Dade county first black foster mother. I’ve worked in various capacities as a social worker, mental health and as an Educator for over twenty years which was very rewarding.
Q: What inspires you to write?
A: What inspired me to write? Well, it was through The Holy Spirit that inspired me to write, to encourage people from various walks of life young and old that each one of us lies a winner deep within our inner being that he created. However, to win in life in spite of our situations, we can do all things through Christ and some very positive people in my life that also believed in me, Gladys Brown, Ella Mae Heming, Lethenia Brown and Brenda Dunbar, they encourage me because each of these ladies had challenges but they continue to perserver to win too.
Q: Do you proofread and edit your work on your own or pay someone to do it for you?
A: Yes, I’m very conscientous about the book. The Lord trusted me to write so yes, I’m very hard on myself to be sure that each word that palced in my heart be what he’s inspired me to write so as a writer; yes, I do proof read the writing before it goes to the next level.
Q: What is the most important thing about a book in your opinion?
A: The subject matter I think is the most important thing in a book and the content.
Q: Who is the most supportive of your writing in your family?
A: My family and friends are supportive. Well, they always encouraged me to continue what I’m doing as a writer as I was writing my first book.
Q: Do you have a day job other than being an author and Pastor?
A:No day job. I have a full time ministries working for the Lord.
Q: There’s a winner in you: does it carry a special message?
A: Yes. The book helps peope find the motivation they need to conquer their fears, dominate their day and fulfill their dreams with this beautiful collection of devinely inspired essays. Again that we were sent here on Earth to win in every area in life and we use our faith and continue to believe in ourselves of the talents and gifts that within us to win, win.
Q: Do you have a daily habit of writing?
A: My daily habit of writing is, I tried everyday to write on a daily basis especially when I’m busy with other activities I still find time to devote myself to my writing.
Q: Are you friends with other authors? If you do, what are their names?
A: Well, I’ve heard of many authors and we all heard of religious authors such as T.D Jakes and others. My friend for many years, Patricia Cherry just published her first children book and hopefully it will become an animated show for children on TV. I’m really proud of her, my friend and author. God bless her. I am also friends with Authors Ronald Destra, Renald Destra, Juanita Destra and L. J. McBayne.
Q: Do you encourage your children or grandchildren to read?
A: Very much so.
Q: Do you mentor in your community?
A: Yes. Through volunteering, I strive to motivate and encourage our youths to excel in life. They have the potential to soar as the eagle. They are very much a winners. We have been sending this type of message for many years to our young people near and far. They are our future leaders. And also, I mentor through my writing about our youth in the local newspapers — through award ceremonies and an assistance hotline we are working on.
Q: How many sibling do you have? How many of them share your passion?
A: I have three siblings, they’re encouraging.
Q: What are some great books you’ve read recently?
A: Other authors that write Christian base faith books, The Tattoo, The Zoo by You, Ronald Destra and Say Something Sammy, Say Something by Author L. J McBayne.
Q: How was life like for you growing up in Florida?
A: It was super great for me. A great childhood, terrific parents that taught me early in life about values, integrity, loving, God and fellowman and of course, myself; these things should take me far in life.

Q: What some advices you have for authors?
A: Create an audience for your book: 1) Create a website. 2) Give away your book in exchange for their emails. 3) Engage your your audience. 4) Run book giveaway contest on your website. 5) Create valuable content for your audiences. 6) Promote book as a 50% discount during the holiday.
Q: What books have influenced your life the most?
A: Books that have positive messages in it like the Bible.
Q: Do you like traveling or do you prefer staying indoors?
A: Traveling. I like to travel.
Q: Are you going to celebrate the publishing of your first book?
A: I sure hope so. Yes. (LOL)
Q: How many formats are available in your book, There’s a Winner in You?
A: Four Formats: hardcover, softcover, eBook & audio book.
Q: Are you working on something new at the moment?
A: Yes. I am working on one book that is called, Spite Fire Mad.
Q: How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?
A: I have three unpublish book and one half-finished book for now.
Q: How many children do you have? Do you see any young writers in anyone of them?
A: I have one child, a daughter which is in the medical field. I see potential in her as a writer.
Q: Do you have a library at home?
A: Yes. A mini library.
Q: What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?
A: I do bible researches from different well recognize books: Strong Exhausive Bible Concordance, dictionaires, the internet, and other books on that subject matter.
Q: Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?
A: Yes. All the times.
Q: Do you encourage your children and grandchildren to read?
A: Yes, little Jay’Shawn, I do encourage him to read as long with Ronald Destra. I want him to be conscious. I want him to love reading. He is five year old right now.
Q: You were given the keys to the City of Miami, what was the experience like?
A: Great. To be recognize by this magnificent City of Miami was a dream come true.
Q: What did you want to become when you were a kid?
A: I wanted to become a nurse or somewhere in the medical field. I was also interested in being a lawyer.
Q: Audio book is skyrocketing. Do you consider having your book turn into audio book?
A: Definitely! Yes. We are working on the audio book as well, “There’s a Winner in You.”
Q: Are you satisfied with your success?
